The first Gadar film saw Sunny Deol venturing into Pakistan to rescue his wife, while the second installment had him rescuing his son from a neighboring country.

In an exclusive conversation with Zoom, director Anil Sharma sheds light on the upcoming Gadar 3, suggesting that it may not revolve around Pakistan this time. He emphasizes that the intention was never to demonize Pakistan, and it was merely coincidental that both previous Gadar films had a Pakistan angle. Sharma states, “We don’t want to make Pakistan a fixed formula for the drama that unfolds in the Gadar franchise.”
The filmmakers want to avoid being labeled as anti-Pakistan because they are not. Their aim is to explore new storytelling avenues beyond the previous themes.
Gadar 2 Records
Gadar 2 made an impressive mark at the box office, raking in approximately Rs 520 crore during its first 38 days. Although it faced a drop in collections later on, it managed to set records before facing competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. Despite the competition, Gadar 2 continued to earn, with around Rs 60 lakh in domestic markets on its 39th day.
During its initial week, Gadar 2 opened with Rs 40 crore and concluded the first week with Rs 284.63 crore. Even with a 52% drop, the second week brought in an additional Rs 134.47 crore. Week 3 saw a collection of Rs 63.35 crore, followed by Rs 27.55 crore in business during week 4. In the last week, the film earned an additional Rs 7.28 crore in theaters.
